Kanchanaburi Province, the western of Thailand. In the old day it is said to be the first defend of Thailand
   because is very close to Burma. The scenary is beautiful fast flowing river,dramatic mountain combined
   with its long evenful history make Kanchamaburi a rather special distination. The pleasant modern town
   has a lively atmosphere and fine tourist attractive countryside and historical sights.

 
   
Bridge over the river Kwai, 4 kms northwest from the town centre. The sturdy war bridge spanning the
   Mae Nam Khwai Yai, which replaced an earlier wooden structure upstream and was a crucial part of the
   Death Railway, which was built in some 16 months by prisoners an Asain conscripts. Later the bridge was
   distroyed in allied bombing raids towards the end of the war and was later rebuilt by the Japanese as war
   representions only the curved girders are origined.  After the war the allies sold the structure to Thai
  
government. Nearby a small raid museum.

   At Kanchanaburi the riverside is lined with raft
   houses popular with those wishing to experience
   the simple life and with floating restaurants
   serving delicious Thai cuisine especially the local
   delicacy Pla Yisok , a succulent river carp , in
   pleasant surroundings.
  



     Kanchanaburi War Cemetery
   This war cemetery named "Don-Rak" ("Rak" the
   meaning in Thai is" love") and is also known as the
   Kanchanaburi war cemetery. It is located opposited
   Kanchanaburi 's railway station on Saengchootoe
   Rd. It contain the remain of 6,982 Australian,Dutch
   and British war prisoners who lost their lives
   during the construction of the Death Railway.
